About Me

So where do I begin?

I was born and raised in the suburban Detroit area and attended Michigan State University upon high school graduation and received my undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management - boring!

While attending MSU, I met my adorable husband, Marc. We fell in love and got married a year after graduation. I pursued a sales career for a large home builder where I began to learn a bit about residential construction management and design. I then moved into their human resources department and expanded my career in the area of recruiting and training.

I had found my passion for helping others learn, grow and make themselves better. I returned for my masters degree in Human Resources at MSU and upon graduation, made the decision to take a training and development role for a major cosmetic company - Mary Kay Cosmetics.

As an Independent Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics, I was responsible for the training and development of hundreds of Mary Kay Consultants within the US and Canada.  I ran two training centers (one in the US and one in Canada) and trained consultants weekly on anything from business management to sales skills, cosmetic product knowledge and makeup artistry.  I also moonlighted as a make-up artist for several local photographers and models. Super fun!

Then in mid 2010 I got pregnant with my first son, Briggs, and decided to make a professional shift.  I have always wanted to raise my own children and needed to alter my lifestyle for more flexibility. That is when I returned to school for my professional coaching certification and opened my career coaching practice . This allowed me to utilize my background, experience and passion for helping others learn, grow and make themselves better while being flexible enough to work from home, set appointments on my own terms, and be full time mommy. Yes!

Now as I am about to birth my second son, and enjoying fantastic flexibility with my coaching practice, I am feeling the creative itch to share my style and beauty experience along with documenting my adventures in DIY projects, mommyhood and shedding the baby weight!
